Attention ye lasses and ladies! If you’re feeling the luck of the Irish, come on down to the Long Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival in Estes Park, Colorado, held this year from September 6th to 9th.
For over 30 years, the scenic town of Estes Park has hosted the largest Scottish and Irish festival in the western United States. Celebrate Scottish and Irish heritage, music, food and art with other merry revelers over a long weekend during one of the most beautiful times of year!
Music fans will enjoy performances ranging from traditional bagpipes to military marches to contemporary rock, from bands and artists hailing from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and, naturally, the United States.
The Scottish Irish Highland Festival is family-friendly and will include entertainment for all ages. Don’t miss the free-hour long parade taking place on Elkhorn Avenue on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
The festival schedule will also include:
- A shopping market featuring Scottish- and Irish-inspired clothing, accessories, jewelry, home décor and, of course, plenty of kilts.
- A Scottish athletic competition that will include hammer throws, stone-putting and caber throws.
- A jousting championship.
- A “Dogs of the British Isles” display, featuring dog agility contests, terrier races and exhibition booths.
You can buy tickets to this year’s festival here.
There’s also plenty of fun to be had around Estes Park, where many local businesses will feature live Celtic music and whiskey tasting all weekend long.
